Continua l’ottimo momento del Team Ricci Racing.

Siamo giunti alla seconda prova degli Internazionali d’Italia Mx 2013 e i piloti del team Ricci Racing si sono dimostrati ancora una volta competitivi.
Questo secondo appuntamento si è corso sulla pista di Malagratta alle porte di Roma su di un
tracciato molto tecnico e dal fondo molto duro. Shaun Simpson continua il suo buon momento di forma e già dalle prove cronometrate ha fatto segnare ottimi tempi andando a conquistare il terzo tempo assoluto.

Nella manche della Mx1 Shaun è riuscito a partire molto bene inserendosi nel gruppo di testa, Simpson ha messo in scena una manche tutta all’attacco è riuscito a concludere al sesto posto finale. I due giovani piloti della Mx2 Samuele Bernardini e Ivo Monticelli si sono ben comportati e nelle prove cronometrate hanno fatto segnare tempi di assoluto rilievo, Samuele ha ottenuto il 15° tempo e Ivo si è inserito nelle parti alte della classifica con il 5° posto. Ottima manche per Samuele Bernardini che dopo una bellissima partenza è riuscito a scalare la classifica riuscendo a recuperare diverse posizioni conquistando un ottimo quarto posto finale, Monticelli non è riuscito a sfruttare la sua buona posizione al cancello, Ivo nel corso della gara ha dovuto alzare il ritmo a causa di un piccolo problema fisico concludendo al 16° posto. Nella Elite Shaun Simpson è riuscito a migliorarsi e con una buona partenza e un ritmo di gara molto buono ha chiuso al quinto posto assoluto, Ivo Monticelli è riuscito mantenere una buona posizione dopo la partenza finendo 12° e terzo miglior pilota della Mx2. Bernardini non è riuscito ad ottenere una buona partenza e nel corso della manche è stato vittima di una scivolata che lo ha relegato in 16° posizione.
Nella 125 Tomas Ragadini continua il suo apprendistato con la nuova moto e ha condotto due buone manche senza commettere errori concludendo in 19° posizione assoluta. Prossimo appuntamento il 17 febbraio per l’ultima gara degli Internazionali ad Arco di Trento.

ILARIO RICCI
Iniziando dalla 125, devo dire che oggi Thomas mi è piaciuto nella prima manche. Sappiamo che non ha ancora il ritmo dei primi, dopo una buona partenza dove si trovava in quarta posizione ha poi mollato ma nell’insieme sono soddisfatto.
Nella MX2 sia Monticelli che Bernardini potevano andare meglio. Ivo nella sua gara è partito ultimo ed il risultato è stato compromesso dall’inizio. Samuele invece ha terminato quarto e sono soddisfatto. Con Simpson abbiamo fatto qualche test nella gara della MX1 però non siamo andati nella direzione giusta. Nella Elite siamo tornati al setting che conoscevamo ed è stato molto meglio. Tutto sommato la giornata è stata positiva, nell’insieme. Stiamo lavorando tanto e speriamo di andare nella direzione giusta per essere pronti al primo GP del Mondiale.

SHUAN SIMPSON
Oggi è stato meglio dell’ultimo week end. Il fine settimana a Riola sardo abbiamo avuto piccoli problemi. Questa settimana abbiamo lavorato duro con diversi test in Sardegna e tutto è andato bene. Per è la prima volta che vedo la pista di Malagrotta e devo dire che mi piace. Questa mattina ho fatto test per memorizzare la pista e verificare come cambiavano le traiettorie. Nella prima garao fatto sesto, ma potevo fare anche quarto. Nella gara finale sono partito bene guidando bene. Avevo un buon feeling con la moto. Lottare con Cairoli è difficile ma penso che posso stare nelle prime quattro/cinque posizioni. Ogni settimana che passa mi trovo sempre meglio con la moto e sto lavorando per essere pronto in Qatar.

IVO MONTICELLI
Nella prima manche MX2 sono partito quasi ultimo. Ho cercato di recuperare ma dopo cinque giri mi si sono indurite le braccia e ho fatto quello che potevo. In pratica non riuscivo più a guidare la moto e ho preferito stare calmo per non fare errori.
Nella Elite sono riuscito a gestirmi meglio e ho concluso dodicesimo e terzo dei piloti della Mx2 Sono contento della seconda manche ma non della prima dove ho fatto veramente male. Ho girare tanto nella sabbia e sul duro non avevo e non ho ancora il feeling giusto. Questa settimana girerò ancora su tracciati come questo e penso che ad Arco di Trento andrà meglio.

SAMUELE BERNARDINI
Nella mia manche sono partito nei primi dieci e ho cercato di guidare bene e non fare gli errori fatti in Sardegna la settimana scorsa. All’ultimo giro Kullas e Tonkov si sono toccati e ne ho approfittato per superarli e prendere il quarto posto. A dire il vero potevo anche fare terzo soltanto che nel punto dive c’è stata questa caduta non ho potuto passare Del Segato a causa delle bandiere gialle. Nella Elite sono partito dietro e recuperare è stato complicato. Poi ho anche fatto una scivolata e non sono riuscito a fare più del sedicesimo posto. Speriamo vada meglio la prossima settimana.

Ricci Racing Team’s riders were still competitive in the second round of the 2013 MX International Italian Championship. This weekend, the race took place in Malagrotta, next to Rome, on a very technical and hard ground track. Shaun Simpson still showed his top form and in the qualifying practices he realized great fast laps, gaining the overall third place.
In the first moto, Shaun started very well, joining the leading group and, thanks to his offensive strategy, he finished sixth.
In Mx2, the two young riders, Samuele Bernardini and Ivo Monticelli, obtained good results: in the qualifying practices Samuele finished 15th and Ivo entered the top positions, finishing 5th. After an excellent start, Samuele Bernardini caught up several positions gaining a great overall 4th place; while Monticelli finished 16th due to a little injury. In the Elite, Shaun Simpson was able to improve his performance. Thanks to a good start and a very good rhythm, he finished 5th; Ivo Monticelli was able to keep a good position after the start, finishing 12th. He was the best third rider of Mx2. Bernardini didn’t start so well and he finished 16 th because of a slip. In the 125 race, Tomas Ragadini went on his apprenticeship with his new bike and he led two good races without making mistakes and gaining the overall 19th place. The next and the last round of the International Italian Championship will take place in Arco di Trento, on the 17th of February.

ILARIO RICCI
In 125 class, I want to say that I really appreciated Tomas in the first race. We know that he still hasn’t the leaders’ rhythm, but today after a good start in 4th position, then he gave up. I’m satisfied. In Mx2 both Bernardini and Monticelli could obtain better results. Ivo started in the very backline and so his result was compromised since the beginning of the race; whereas Samuele finished 4th and I’m satisfied with him. In Mx1 we just had some tests with Simpson without reaching satisfying results. So in the Elite we reverted to our previous setting and it was much better. To sum up the day has been positive. We are working hard and we hope to be ready for the first GPf the World Championship.

SHAUN SIMPSON
Today’s race has been better than the previous one. The weekend in Riola, some technical problems had affected our weekend, but during this week we worked very hard and everything went great. It’s the first time I’ve been in Malagrotta and I like the track. This morning I just had some tests to memorize the track and understand how lines may change here. In the first race I finished sixth, but I could even finish 4th. In the elite I had a good start and I was riding very well since I had a good feeling with my bike. Fighting with Cairoli is difficult but I think that I can enter the top five. Each week I feel better and better with my bike and I’m working hard to be ready in Qatar.

IVO MONTICELLI
In the first Mx2 race, I started in the backline and I tried to catch up positions but after five laps my arms hardened and I couldn’t ride, so I just tried to relax and not to make mistakes. In the Elite I succeeded in managing my race, finishing 12th and third among the Mx2 riders. I’m satisfied with my second race. I trained a lot on sandy tracks while on hard tracks I hadn’t and I still haven’t the right feeling. This week I will ride on hard tracks so I think that in Arco di Trento I will obtain better results.

SAMUELE BERNARDINI
In the Mx2 race, I started in the first ten positions and I just tried to ride well and not to make mistakes. In the last lap Kullas and Tonkov had a contact and I took advantage to pass them grabbing the fourth place. Honestly, I was near to finish third but I couldn’t pass Del Segato due to the yellow flags. In the Elite I started in the backline and I didn’t manage to catch up some positions. I even slipped and I finished 16th.
