The slightly hard pack yet very grippy circuit of Pacov, Czech Republic is all set to host the 2014 edition of the Motocross of European Nations, as well as the Women Motocross of European nations, which will take place this weekend August 23 & 24.
Eleven nations have entered with the defending champions and hot favorites being Team France who will line up with their celebrated European Championship front runners Nicolas Dercourt, 250cc, David Herbreteau, 125cc, and their two young 85cc stars Calvin Fonvielle and Brian Moreau Strubhart.
While France have a super strong team lined up to defend the title another year, it sure is going to be no easy feat with the likes of Michele Cervellin, race winner in the 2014 EMX250 championship, Joakin Furbetta, Claudio De Carli’s 125cc racing prodigy, and two of the worlds best 85cc riders Gianluca Fachetti and Paolo Lugana making up Team Italy. Meanwhile another team to watch is the team stemming from The Netherlands who is made up of the current European EMX250 vice-champion Brian Bogers, 125cc star on the rise Rene De Jong, European EMX85cc vice-champion Roan Van de Moosdijk and EMX150 race winner Rick Elzinger.
Also lining up to put in some track time this weekend, MX2 star Honda Gariboldi’s Tim Gajser will represent his country Slovenia alongside teammates, Miha Bubnic, Luca Milek and Jan Pancar.
How the champions are decided: each of the four riders will race two races making eight races in total. Out of the eight races, the SEVEN best scores will be added together and the team with the most points will be crowned the best European nation.
