DESALLE & SUZUKI VICTORIOUS AT VALENCE MX

Rockstar Energy Suzuki Mondiale MXGP con Clement Desalle ha corso per la vittoria a Valence pre-season evento internazionale di motocross in Francia; la seconda delle tre gare internazionali della squadra dove sarà presente prima della gara di apertura del Campionato del Mondo MXGP in Qatar il 28 febbraio.

Il compagno di squadra Kevin Strijbos e Desalle impostano i più veloci tempi sul giro a bordo delle loro RM-Z450s nelle libere del Sabato, svoltasi in condizioni semi-asciutte, ma le gare sono state colpite dalla pioggia costante che ha trasformato il circuito in un Mudfest(festa del fango).

Strijbos con la pole position della mattina con un giro super-veloce era quasi tre secondi più veloce di Desalle, ma Desalle è stato il più veloce fuori dal cancello nella prima manche; una gara che ha vinto in maniera convincente dallo start-to-finish su Strijbos.

Nella seconda manche, Desalle alla prima curva era in terza posizione, ma spostato in avanti quando il francese Gautier Paulin (Honda) ha fatto un paio di errori; e poi dopo che Xavier Boog (Kawasaki) ha preso una linea esterna, il 25-year-old belga ha preso il comando e lo tenne fino alla bandiera a scacchi.

Strijbos ha riscontrato un cancelletto di partenza con rimbalzo, costringendolo a farsi strada dal centro del gruppo e una volta dietro Steven Frossard (KTM) ha dovuto accontentarsi della quinta posizione con la pioggia battente che rendeva impossibile il passaggio.

Clement Desalle:

“Con questo tempo e questa pista iniziare davanti era super importante. Ho ottenuto una vera buona partenza nella prima manche e portare dallo start-to-finish il comando. La seconda gara è stata un po ‘più difficile, ero in terza posizione, ma Paulin fatto qualche errore, così ho potuto passarlo, e poi era praticamente la stessa cosa con Boog, ma è bello vincere qui per la quarta volta! ”

Kevin Strijbos:

“Sono contento della mia guida qui. La prima manche è andato molto bene, ma la seconda lo è stata un po ‘meno grazie a una brutta partenza. E ‘stato difficile passare e non volevo prendere troppi rischi nel cercare di passare. Sono rimasto bloccato dietro Frossard a un certo punto, ho provato un paio di volte per guadagnare terreno, ma ogni volta che andavo fuori la buona linea perdevo quasi 50 metri a causa del fango. ”

La squadra ora si precipita a casa in Belgio per finire l’imballaggio delle casse per il primo Gran Premio della stagione. Ma una volta imballato tutto, il team si dirigerà verso l’evento internazionale di motocross a Mantova in Italia il prossimo fine settimana.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MXGP rider Clement Desalle raced to victory at the Valence pre-season International Motocross event in France today; the second of three international races the team will attend before the opening round of the World MXGP Championship at Qatar on February 28th.

Team-mate Kevin Strijbos and Desalle set the fastest lap-times aboard their factory RM-Z450s in Saturday’s free practice, held under semi-dry conditions, but today’s races were hit by constant rain that turned the circuit into a single-lined mudfest.

Strijbos took pole position in the morning with a super-quick lap that was almost three-seconds faster than Desalle’s, but Desalle was the fastest out of the gate in the first heat; a race he convincingly won from start-to-finish from Strijbos.

In the second heat, Desalle rounded the first corner in third position, but moved forward when Frenchman Gautier Paulin (Honda) made a couple of errors; and then after Xavier Boog (Kawasaki) took an outside line, the 25-year-old Belgian took the lead and held it to the chequered flag.

Strijbos encountered a bouncing start gate, forcing him to work his way up from the middle of the pack and once behind Steven Frossard (KTM) he had to settle for fifth position as heavy rain made it impossible to pass.

Clement Desalle:

“With this weather and this track the starts were super important. I got a real good start in the first heat and could lead from start-to-finish. The second race was a bit more difficult when I was in third position, but Paulin made some mistakes so I could get through, and that was basically the same with Boog, but it’s good to win here for the fourth time!”

Kevin Strijbos:

“I’m happy with my riding here. The first heat went really well, but the second was a little less-so thanks to a bad start. It was difficult to pass and I didn’t want to take too-much risk in trying to pass. I got stuck behind Frossard at some point, tried a couple of times to gain ground and pass him, but every time I went off the good line and I lost almost 50 metres because of the mud.”

The team now rushes home to Belgium to finish packing the crates for the first Grand Prix of the season. But once the flight cases are packed, the team will head towards the International Motocross event at Mantova in Italy this coming weekend.
