Racing e del Team SDM Corse MX
La fusione del Team DP19 Yamaha Official EMX250 e della squadra italiana SDM Corse MX Team danno vita al nuovo ASTES4-TESAR Yamaha Official EMX team.
Ciò significa che Yamaha Motor Europe sarà in grado di contare su un set-up di prima classe nel campionato europeo motocross 2017 e uno stadio vitale per lo sviluppo nella struttura del produttore per raggiungere la vetta di questo sport.
Fabio Tognella supervisionerà il nuovo team come Marketing Manager insieme a Daniele Marchese che sarà il Team Manager mentre l’ex Campione del Mondo MX1 (MXGP) David Philippaerts sarà il Rider Manager.

Il Team metterà in campo un trio emozionante di talenti emergenti che sarsanno Maxime Renaux (EMX250), Karlis Sabulis (EMX250) e Roan Van de Moosdijk (EMX250) sulla tecnologica YZ250F.
All’età di 32 anni, Philippaerts è arrivato agli sgoccioli della sua carriera nel corso dell’ultimo anno, lanciando la propria struttura di gara tre anni fa in blu Yamaha. Il Campione del Mondo MX1 (MXGP) – solo il secondo atleta nella storia del motociclismo a vincere Gran Premi in entrambe le principali categorie MX2 ed MXGP – si è concentrato insieme con Yamaha per sviluppare la prossima generazione di potenziali vincitori di motocross. Nel 2016 ‘DP’ ha aiutato l’adolescente olandese Van de Moosdijk nella serie EMX125 con la YZ125 e catturato il quinto posto assoluto – e un podio in Lettonia – così come l’ottima prestazione nel FIM Junior World Championship in Russia. L’organizzazione e la competenza dell’ italiano è stata anche oggetto di un uso eccellente, attraverso la Yamaha YZ125 CUP che ha portato alla luce ancora più giovani promesse insieme anche alla formazione di sessioni ‘Masterclass’ che hanno offerto preziose lezioni alle schiere di piloti YZ125 in tutto il continente.

“Tre anni fa ho iniziato la mia squadra da solo ed è stata abbastanza dura, ma ho imparato così tanto da andare di corsa nel modo giusto”, ha detto Philippaerts. “Questa nuova mossa di unire due squadre in una giunge in un grande momento per fare qualcosa di un po’ diverso e molto forte per Yamaha. Per me è anche un nuovo ruolo in cui posso concentrarmi maggiormente su quello che sono bravo e quello che mi piacerebbe fare, essere più al fianco dei piloti e assicurarmi che tutto, da un punto di vista tecnico e delle necessità, sia ok. Stiamo insieme per fare una grande squadra e sono davvero felice “.

La SDM Corse MX Team entrano nella breccia Yamaha per la prima volta nel 2017 e la loro passione e le capacità logistiche sarà una risorsa importante quando si tratta di seguire i nove round del campionato europeo la prossima stagione. Il lettone Karlis Sabulis sarà al suo secondo mandato sulla YZ250F in EMX250 per quello che è il trampolino di lancio finale per i GP; il #16 ha alle sue spalle già alcune apparizioni in MX2 come wild-card questa estate. L’aggiunta di francese Maxime Renaux completa il roster e l’ex Campione del Mondo Junior, campione d’Europa e il numero uno nazionale cercherà di riportare in alto la sua carriera dopo un infortunio al gomito che ha bloccato alcuni dei suoi progressi in EMX250 nel 2016. Il sedicenne è considerato come uno delle più brillanti luci della scena europea e sarà certamente un pilota da guardare nel ’17.

DP19 Yamaha Official EMX250 Team and SDM Corse MX Team link for premium Yamaha European Motocross effort
The amalgamation of the DP19 Yamaha Official EMX250 Team and fellow Italian squad SDM Corse MX Team – to form ASTES4-TESAR Yamaha – will mean Yamaha Motor Europe will be able to count on a first class set-up in 2017 European Championship motocross and a vital stage of development in the manufacturer’s structure to reach the very top of the sport.

Fabio Tognella will be overseeing the new ‘wing’ as Marketing Manager with Daniele Marchese as Team Manager and former MX1 (MXGP) World Champion David Philippaerts as Rider Manager.
The crew will field an exciting trio of emerging racing talent in the forms of Maxime Renaux (EMX250), Karlis Sabulis (EMX250) and Roan Van de Moosdijk (EMX250) on YZ250F technology.
32 year old Philippaerts has been winding down his riding career over the last year, and since the launch of his own racing structure three years ago in Yamaha blue. The 2008 MX1 (MXGP) World Champion – just the second athlete in the history of the sport to win Grands Prix in both principal categories of MX2 and MXGP – has been focussed together with Yamaha on developing the next generation of potential motocross winners. In 2016 ‘DP’ helped Dutch teenager Van de Moosdijk make an impression in the EMX125 series with the YZ125 and captured fifth place overall – and a podium finish in Latvia – as well as the runner-up spot in the FIM Junior World Championship fixture in Russia. The Italian’s organisation and expertise has also been put to excellent use through Yamaha’s YZ125 competition to unearth yet more young competitive prospects and the formation of the Masterclass sessions offering invaluable tuition to the reams of YZ125 riders around the continent.

“Three years ago I started my own team by myself and it was pretty tough but I learned so much about going racing in the right way,” Philippaerts said. “This new move to put two-teams-into-one comes at a great time to do something a bit different and very strong for Yamaha. For me it is also a new role where I can focus more on what I am good at and what I’d like to do; be based more around the riders and making sure everything from a technical and supply side is right. We are joining together to make a great team and I’m really happy.”

The SDM Corse MX Team come into the Yamaha breach for the first time in 2017 and their passion and logistical capabilities will be an important asset when it comes to the breadth of the nine-round European contest next season. Latvian Karlis Sabulis will be negotiating his second term on the YZ250F in EMX250 for what is the final stepping stone to Grand Prix; #16 having already made some MX2 wild-card appearances this summer. The addition of Frenchman Maxime Renaux completes the roster and the former Junior World Champion, European Champion and national number one will be aiming to resurrect his lightning career trajectory after an elbow injury halted some of his progress in EMX250 in 2016. The sixteen year old is regarded as one of the brightest lights on the European scene and will most certainly be one to watch in ’17.
