Come sapete, se ci avete seguito nelle varie pubblicazioni nelle fasi di mercato dei piloti AMA, ci sono stati dei cambiamenti di piloti tra Team, uno di questi riguarda Tyler Bowers che da ProCircuit passa al 51FIFTY, quindi con le Blu, anche questa notizia la pubblicammo in anteprima tempo fa, ora il comunicato ufficiale!
51FIFTY Energy Drink / Yamaha ha annunciato che Tyler Bowers e Hayden Mellross costituiranno il team con supporto Yamaha. Questa non è una sorpresa in quanto entrambi i piloti sono stati in precedenza inclusi nella squadra nel team di supporto dall’ annuncio BLU CRU.
Bowers si unisce al team dopo aver corso per Monster Energy di Mitch Payton / Pro Circuit Kawasaki a tempo pieno per due stagioni e accumulare quattro Campionati Arenacross Amsoil.
“Sono entusiasta di entrare 51FIFTY e il Blu CRU”, ha detto Bowers. “Sono stato a girare e abbiamo fatto test con il team per diverse settimane ora e la moto è veramente forte. Proprio fuori dal cancello ho notato quanto sia grande la moto e sono rimasto colpito da quanto bene si lavora con il team. Vedo un grande potenziale nella squadra e si aspettano collaborazioni con il nostro personale, per elevare la squadra nel suo complesso e mettermi in posizione nella parte anteriore dove so di appartenere”.
La firma di Bowers eleva sicuramente il team di supporto Yamaha ai potenziali vincitori di corse che si dirigono nella stagione 2017, Bowers ha già una vittoria nel supercross al suo nome e si è mescolato con gli altri contendenti al titolo in passato.
“Tyler ha uno stile di guida aggressivo, ed è qualcuno che lotterà per le vittorie”, afferma il team manager Craig Monty. “Questa è una grande qualità per un pilota e un attributo che è importante per il resto della squadra. Questo è il nostro sesto anno nella serie supercross e continuiamo a crescere con ogni stagione. Abbiamo sperato molto d’ avere un pilota del calibro di Tyler nella squadra.”
Hayden Mellross torna alla squadra per il secondo anno dopo aver messo un solido sforzo nella stagione da rookie. Hayden continuerà la preparazione con Tim Ferry, come fece nel ’16.
“Sono entusiasta di tornare al 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha”, ha detto Mellross. “Abbiamo avuto una stagione da rookie solida insieme ed è bello essere di nuovo con tutti i volti familiari. Sto lavorando bene per quest’anno e pronto a mantenere lo slancio precampionato da portare in Anaheim. ”
Mellross ha fame per la stagione in quanto ha perso il campionato 250SX australiano a causa di un guasto meccanico.

51FIFTY Energy Drink/Yamaha announced today that Tyler Bowers and Hayden Mellross will make up the roster for the Yamaha support team. This comes as no surprise as both riders were previously listed for the team in the bLU cRU support teams announcement.
Bowers joins the team after riding for Mitch Payton’s Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki squad full-time for two seasons and racking up four Amsoil Arenacross Championships before that.
“I’m excited to join 51FIFTY and the bLU cRU,” said Bowers. “I’ve been riding and testing with the team for several weeks now and the bike is really strong. Right out of the gate I noticed how great the bike handled and was impressed at how well the team works together. I see great potential in the team and expect, working with our staff, to elevate the team as whole and put myself in position up front where I know I belong.”
The signing of Bowers certainly elevates the Yamaha support team to potential race winners heading into the 2017 season as Bowers already has one supercross win to his name and has mixed it up with the other title contenders in the past.
“Tyler has an aggressive riding style, and is someone who will put up a fight for race wins,” states team manager Craig Monty. “That’s a great quality for a racer and an attribute that’s important to the rest of the team. This is our sixth year in the supercross series and we continue to grow with each season. We’re fired up to have a rider of Tyler’s caliber join the team.”
Hayden Mellross returns to the team for the second-straight year after putting in a solid rookie season effort. Hayden will continue training with Tim Ferry, as he did in ’16.
“I’m stoked to return to the 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha team,” said Mellross. “We had a solid rookie season together and it’s nice to be back with all the familiar faces. I’m fired up for this year and ready to keep the pre-season momentum rolling into Anaheim.”
Mellross is hungry heading into the season as he lost out on the Australian 250SX Championship this off-season due to a mechanical failure.
